Tulips are generally not perennial bulbs and are most beautiful in their first year. It is therefore best to remove the tulip bulbs after flowering and plant new ones in the autumn. Tulip bulbs need a cold period (winter) to bloom. In the open ground they can withstand all weather conditions. In extreme frost, you should place the tulip bulbs planted in pots in a cold shed.
